Event 8 "Alone in the Dark" Remaining Ticket Cost
Chiselhurst Caves, London, BR7 5NL
Friday 31st of March - Sunday 2nd of April 2023
The site itself is well lit, large and with enough variety that we can keep the encounters fresh. How you move around the caves IC will be down to portals thus allowing us to control the pace and who goes where. We dropped the ball on the notice board at event 7 but in event 8 this will be a core method of quest organization. Please keep to the numbers stated on each quest, not only is this for game balance but also so we have enough safety cover to manage the encounter.
We have already spoken to bare bones tavern who hopefully will be hosting their bar in the player area which is in itself a tavern.
The site has hot/cold running water, plumbed toilets and power in a site office located next to the player area. Phones will not have a signal but if you have critical devices which need charging then we are happy to charge them.
We are going to waive the bring a crew part of the overflow tickets as too many crew will work against us in the caves.
At Event 8 you will be spending the course of the event underground and this will naturally be a very different type of event for us and you. It will change and restrict the way we run and play the event.
Access – Apart from a short flight of steps (3-4 steps) the site is accessed by a tunnel with a flat surface so those with crutches will be able to get onto site. The tunnels themselves are easy to traverse save for a few areas but sadly those with wheel chairs will struggle if it is your primarily mode of movement.
Accommodation – You will be able to camp in the caves and we have a communal area for players to sleep. You will not be able to pitch tents and there will be limit private space. Booking a hotel is also an option and we will provide details of local hotels. Private space will be prioritiesd to bigger groups. There is no grass on the surface to camp but if you have campervans you are more than welcome to use them.
Food – You will not be able to cook in the caves however we will be organizing a meal deal with the cave owners and café to provide meals. This will be an optional extra which will be available at a later date from our website shop. Cooking on the surface is permitted outside the hours of 9am – 4pm due to the museum being open. The museum is segregated from our play area.
Pyrotechnics – Flash bangs will be banned at this event but we will come up with an alternative for those who use such things. Smoke will be limited in its use due to the air flow of the site (the smoke will travel through the museum).
Candle – Naked flame candles and lanterns will be prohibited at this event therefore please can you bring electronic faux candles/lanterns.
Ranged weapons – These will also be restricted at this event primarily due to the risk of ricochets off the walls and damage to arrows. The ranged weapon skill allows you to pick up a back up skill if ranged weapons cant be used.
